The Olduvai gorge, in the Serengeti plains, is one of the most important archaeological sites of the entire planet, perhaps the “Cradle of Mankind”. Walking in the footsteps of the first hominids, where the human adventure on earth began, is a unique and unforgettable experience which turns back time to some million years ago, on the same ground, in the same place, just like in those days.<\/p>\n

The ashes of the first hominids<\/h2>\n

The footprints of the first hominids were found there, in the crater of a dormant volcano (Lateoli). Thorough research and and in-depth analysis of the findings have enabled scientists to determine that they belonged to upright-walking living beings, just like modern man.<\/p>\n

The sensational breakthrough, made possible by \u00a0state-of-the-art research tools, has led to further developments in fully understanding the spectacular parable of human evolution.
